Happy New Year, Blogger Friends! My motto: "2019 will be good to all of us!"
I'm sharing a video created when Bulldog Man and I went out to New Mexico, not too
long ago, to check on his parents. They're getting up there in age; and we hadn't physically put eyes on them in a while. You know how it is when you talk to your parents on the telephone; "We're fine." We drove down to the southern-most part of New Mexico to surprise them (really to check on them), and to see if there were any chores where they needed help. Good thing we went; we took down a large Willow Tree, it was dead inside, but still standing. It was a potential widow maker.
Bulldog Man's parents were so happy to have us visit (aka: check on them).
I agree that phone calls never are the same (in so many respects!) as a visit in person.
ReplyDeleteSeeing your video with the train tracks gave me a twinge of nostalgia for our last place in Illinois which was bordered on one side by railroad tracks. Oh, for the days when the engineer always waved when we were outside and stopped to look up when the train went by!
My goodness, what a beautiful vista. You can only see that in the southwest. It's so true - they will always say they are fine. Most of the time, they are, but when they're not, you need to know! My mother is big on 'not being a burden'. As if. You are good kids to go down and give them a hand (check on them). Much love to you.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could call my parents. They are gone and it will be awhile ( I hope) before I join them. If yours are still with us, call, go see, or take'em out to dinner. You never know when that time will end.
ReplyDeleteNice new blog Sandy. Great look. Nice to see you. Loved the video it is very pretty there. It is nice to go check on our parents. Take care. B
