Fresh Lettuce & Staying Alive

Today, Bulldog Man and I cut lettuce from our garden to have as part of our dinner tonight.  This was our first harvest of lettuce from the garden.  We love fresh grown lettuce, (red romaine, Bibb, and Boston) and added it to our Mexican salads.

Start with fresh made, green chile corn tortillas, slather on refried beans without fat, add ground beef with green chiles, fresh lettuce from the garden, fresh salsa, maybe some fresh cut tomatoes, graded mild cheddar cheese, and sliced black olives (which were not on BDM’s plate).

OMG….dinner was delicious……Bulldog Man rated it 4 paws!!!!

I just want to share with you a little something from my demented mind bahahahahahahahaha……..

On Friday, I was driving into town when all of a sudden this black spider appeared on the windshield on the truck.  Now I’m going 45 MPH, and this spider is trying hard to continue to walk all over the windshield.  Now, talk about perfect timing; the radio station played “Staying Alive” as the spider tried hard to stay on the windshield.  Check it out!!!!!

Okay, I stopped the video so you wouldn’t see what I had done to this spider, because I really didn’t want to hear from people who hate those who kill spiders…….

Gotta love the turning on of the windshield wiper :-)

  1. How dare you let that spider live.... By not killing it on video you set it free to terrorize someone else. Shame on you.

Does that count as hearing from those who want all spiders dead?

  3. Just be glad it wasn't a Florida spider. A Florida spider would have ripped off you wiper blade and smacked you with it ! :-)

  4. Wow, I wasn't sure if anyone still listens to the Bee Gees. Was it on 8 track? Joking of course. Now I can visualize reaching her hand down from heaven smacking me, that was her band.

    1. Senior,

No this was a radio station, they play ever kind of music. Now an 8 track would really age me. I never owned one of those my husband probably has though, lol

    1. Senior,

I don't think your mom would reach down and smack you in the head for making that comment about her favorite band. I think she would make you sit and listen to the Bee Gee's for long periods of time :-)

  6. Okay.... i will be the first to say that I have a Disco station on my Iheart radio app.Nothing wrong with some " Stayin Alive". Our youngest hates to kill any thing..he says that everything is Gods Creation.

    1. JUGM,

Disco is okay to listen to, nothing wrong with that at all. I don't have s disco station saved or on an application. Just a radio station which plays anything and everything in any time frame. Really, your young son doesn't like to kill critters. That will change as he gets older.

    1. HL,

Yes ma'am some songs are very timeless. It was funny when all of a sudden the spider was dancing on the windshield as I was driving and the stayin alive song came on. I killed the spider with the wiper squashing him.

  8. Love those Mexican salads and yours looks yummy! Too funny about the spider and what an appropriate song. Once when the Marine and I were lounging by the pool a lizard was on the deck moving up and down to the beat of the song "Sea Cruise" that was before the era of video phones.

Thank you....I love most Mexican food :-)
I miss lizards, we used to have all kinds of them when we lived in Florida. That's too funny, lizard moving up and down with the beat of "Sea Cruise".

I do have a strange sense of humor :P
Thank you, I drive very well if I don't minds saying even with a spider on the windshield of the truck. Fresh greens are the best, especially when they come from your garden.

Thanks :-) I absolutely hate them too, along with snakes. I drove pretty good, and didn't end up in the ditch.
