Estate Sale, Doobie Brothers

Sorry Blogger friends, I’ve been away from my blog for several days to take care of things around my homestead.

This past weekend, Bulldog Man and I stopped at several estate sales in town.  At one of the estate sales, we picked up a potato ricer $5.00, down vest $3.00, and hand tools $20.00.  Then we headed on to another sale, this one was after church on Sunday.

At another estate sale, we came home with a very large old-fashioned white linen table cloth and 8 napkins for $5.00, homemade winter scarf for $1.00, a stoneware pitcher for $3.00, metal jar opener for $1.50, large grader 50 cents, Magic Hostess meat grinder and salad chef with 5 blades, and a cookbook $10.00, a large magnifier for working with tools $1.00, and a heavy duty Keystone old-fashioned food chopper with 4 blades for $4.00.

Everything on Sunday was 1/2 price.

I also put up in the pantry 6 jars of apple butter.  I had to hide the apple butter to make sure our son, Tank, wouldn’t eat it all up in a couple of meals.

This is the final harvest from my garden on beans and eggplant.  My peas are still trucking along.  The weather is going to get nice for a few days this week; I’m hoping the peas keep growing before my first harvest.

And finally, Bulldog Man and I bought tickets to see the Doobie Brothers; this was a late Anniversary present to each other.

    1. Carolyn,

I walked out of this house with all kinds of deals.
I absolutely hate being in crowds, that is why we found seats at this concert up front and at a casino (less people).

  4. That is a pretty good haul. Let me know if you come across antique canning jars. I collect them.
I remember when I was a kid, my sister had two albums...her Elton John and Doobie Brothers.. when our parents were at work, that is all we heard..over and over and over. Until she bought the double album from the movie "Grease"

    1. JUGM,

Thank you!!!! Oh girl, there were several antique canning jars at the first estate sale. They were pricey and didn't seem to be in good condition. Oh I had that Grease album years ago.

    1. Gammy,

I love yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores. We must be kindred spirits.

Thank you so much for the Anniversary wish. We had to get tickets for the Doobie Brothers, my husband worked with the band 30 years ago. I thought it would be a great gift to him to see his friends again.

  7. Sandy,
You sure have a good nose for bargains! In that picture with the chocolate peppers? Are those the albino peppers? I don't think I've ever seen them before.
Doobie Brothers huh? Girl, I STILL like them. Some things will always just be a part of me. Like the music of the Doobie Brothers, ya know?
    Hugs to you and yours,

Thank you, my nose leads me all the time, lol
Yes Ma'am those are albino peppers. I have one real small pepper albino plant that keeps trying to produce peppers. I've given up on it now.
I love the Doobie Brothers, they will always be a band worth listening and singing too. They'll never get old!!!!
Oh I know you like the Doobie Brothers, what's not to like?

      Hugs to you and Mars,

  11. Estate sales can be so much fun. My in-laws always found great items when they use to frequent them. You scored some good finds! Grew up listing to the Doobie Brothers and still like them today! (I had siblings far older than me, so spent lots of time listening to their music).
