Tea-Shampoo-Rolls-Sugary Mess

I will never….. again, have a glass of ice tea (no sugar) at 6:30PM.  When it was time to go to bed, I was wide awake.  At 1:00AM still wide awake, 2:00AM came, and went.  3:00AM came and went, then at 3:20AM; I finally laid my head down on a pillow and started to fall into a sound sleep.  At 3:30AM, I had a tickle in my throat, causing me to cough continuously.  Now I’m back out of bed, drinking a hot decaf tea to kill the tickle in the throat and I’m wide awake.  Unable to go back to bed, today I feel like a walking zombie.
So much for doing yard work, I just don’t have the energy.

I did however, have the energy to do the following:
~ Make Shampoo (Recipe provided by Money Saving Queen)

Recipe   1/3 Cup Castile Soap, ¼ Cup Coconut Milk, ½ tsp
of vegetable or olive oil.  Mix well (I use a mason jar and shake), place in an old shampoo bottle.

~ Make rolls to go with dinner (Recipe borrowed from Hickery Holler Farm)

~ Dropped my sugar canister on the floor, losing ¼ of my stash.  Beans (the dog) loved it; he jumped off Bulldog Man’s chair, ran into the kitchen and was trying to lick it up as fast as he could because he knew I was going to clean it up.  I had to drag Beans out of the kitchen, put the baby gate up at the doorway to prevent him from eating himself into a sugar high.  You should have seen the look Beans gave me.  You would have thought I had just killed his best friend……SUGAR….SUGAR…SUGAR.  I hate having to cleanup a sugar mess.  First it’s the broom, then the vacuum and finally the mop (so much for not having energy).  The rest of the afternoon Beans didn’t want to have anything to do with me, MEAN MOMMY!!!!

See the dog prints in the sugar.

    1. Our dog Beans will eat anything, he's like Mikey (from the commercial) and if you tell him "NO", he eats faster. Hoping you can't get what ever it is away from him. He's a strange but silly dog, lol

  2. Yes .. tea will keep you up. I had to give up even drinking morning coffee while I was going through the change in order to sleep at night. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall observing the dog-vs-sugar war :)

    1. Mrs. Mac,

I couldn't believe just 1 glass of tea would do that to me. The change, hmmmmm......words I don't like, lol. Been through alot with the change, no fun!! I bet you would have laughed so hard watching Beans fighting with me over the sugar on the floor. Beans is so spoiled and a little chunkard, lol

  3. Sandy - thanks so much for stopping in to our blog today and leaving such a nice comment! i couldn't believe it when i clicked on your name to see if you had a blog, and then came here and saw us listed in your blogroll - thank you very much! once i have finished this comment, i will click your follower button and add your blog to our blog roll, too!

anyway - this is kind of off topic - but when we were kids, if we got a cut or scrape that wasn't big enough to go to the hospital for - my dad would put sugar on the cut and then get our dog to lick it?!?!?! crazy eh? but i guess that proves that dogs do, in fact, like sugar.

one other thing - grow some sage. once it has established itself and has a bit of a woody stalk, take 2-3 leaves and rip them up with your fingers and squish them into a cup. pour boiling water in, cover and let steep for 5 minutes. have one to two cups in the evening before bed - it will help with sleeping, nerves and the change. it is one of the most fragrant, delicious and healing teas! we drink a cup every night.

anyway - again - thanks for following our blog. we appreciate it!

    your new friend,
    kymber

  4. Kymber,

Good morning to you and yours. I noticed we both have several friends in common and enjoy your comments on their blogs. So I figured, I needed to check your blog out. I loved reading your posts and decide to follow your blog.

Your dad was onto something when it came to placing sugar on an injury and letting the dog lick the injury. Doing this helps the injury heal faster.

Kymber I had no idea that sage would help with sleeping and the change. I must try it. Growing it will take a little time, I think, I will see if I can pick it up in the vegetable section of the grocery store. Since they have fresh herbs. I will have to let you know how it works. Thank you for the suggestion and the lovely words.
