I would like to start my post today by welcoming a new
blogger to my blog. Welcome Sinder Ella at
"A Modern Day Cinderella" blog. Thank you for
joining my blog, please sit back and enjoy the ride.

Today was a canning day; I was able to
put up in the pantry several quart size jars of beef broth. Next will be chicken broth and spaghetti
sauce.
While canning, I enjoyed a delicious turtle
bar and a cold glass of home brewed green tea.
If you love chocolate, Carmel and graham crackers like I do, you need to
try this recipe from Paratus
Familia blog. I just couldn’t help
myself. Word of advice, eat before
reading blogs. I came across this recipe,
and I just had to make it and have a turtle bar immediately. These bars are to die for, they are very rich
but oh so yummy. Thank you to Enola Gay
for sharing this recipe. It’s my understanding
Enola Gay will be coming out with a cook book in the near future. I can see myself adding Enola Gay’s book to
my library.

I also targeted the ceiling fan in the
bathroom. You heard right, in the
bathroom. I’ve pulled off the fan
blades, sanded them, and painted them a nice vibrant glossy white. Anything is better than the dull light wood
look. The bathroom in our rental home
has no ventilation vents, just a ceiling fan and a window. I’m trying to make this bathroom light and
airy, to make it look larger than it actually is. I have a lot more work ahead of me.

Wow, those turtle bars look like I could eat all of them in one sitting! I'm with you, if I'm hungry, I cut & paste many more recipes. But, alas, I don't have time to actually make them. I swear I'm making Cinnamon Flop from Mamma Pea this weekend.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the various broths. We are doing meat stock this weekend (chicken bones, rib bones, leftover pork, etc.).
DFW,
DeleteThe turtles are delish! I need to go check out this Cinnamon Flop from Mamma Pea.
Homemade stock is the best.
I once had a spurt of energy...I think I spent it visiting MORE blogs than usual. lol
DeleteYour energy, tenacity, and accomplishments are more than I can bear to read about. Please write a post about having a lazy, unproductive day, so I can relate.
A good day for me is one where I feel like getting out of bed.
I admire you!

DeleteLotta Joy,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
I keep going otherwise I feel the pain in my lower back and hips from arthiritis.
One of the upcoming posts, I will post something show a very unproductive day just for you!
I do not like to go to the store hungry either, I find myself splurging on stupid junk food , that I normally would pass on. But baking cookies, that's another story!! Love to do that!! Haha. Canning broth is a great way to spend the day! You are giving me lots of good ideas, thanks.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Susie
Susie,
ReplyDeleteWhether going to the grocery store or reading my favorite blogs, I can't do either until after I've had something to eat. Because if I'm doing either and I'm hungry, I will eat things I shouldn't eat :-)
