Preppers and Batteries

What type of batteries do you have?  Without really thinking about it, how many times have you just plugged in your battery charger and walked away while your batteries charged? Now what would you do if you had no power?  You can’t just plug them in and expect them to charge.  If you had another source of generated power such as wind, solar, or generator, then you could plug them in.  Otherwise you’re pretty much in the dark.  As preppers, Bulldog man and I maintain a selection of alkaline batteries for emergencies.  We surveyed all of our stand alone appliances, radios, lamps, flash lights; fire/gas alarms, clocks and tools, made a list, and purchased exactly what was needed to last for an emergency.  Consider having enough batteries to last for at least a 3 to 6 month period.
