This past
weekend, temperatures were beautiful.
Saturday, we peaked at 65 degrees, and on Sunday, 72 degrees with 40+mph
winds.
On Saturday, Bulldog Man and I headed to the Lower
Illinois River up in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, to do a little trout
fishing.
We had a blast, when we arrived at the lake; we
decided to check out the area to see where would be a good place to drop our
lines in the water. After about 15
minutes, we located a great place. We headed
back to the truck to grab our gear, and return to the prime location we found
to relax, fish, and enjoy each other’s company.

After several hours of just nibbles on our lines, we
decided to head back home.
On Sunday, we slept in a bit, then had a family
lunch, and headed into the Big “O” (Oklahoma City) for the RV and Boat
show. Tank decided to go one direction
when we arrived at the show; he wanted to see the boats. Bulldog Man and I went
another, looking at conventional and 5th wheel trailers. We both fell in love with 2 trailers; we put
them on our long wish list. You know the
wish list we all have, but more than likely will never get around to
fulfilling.
When we returned home, Beans was waiting for our
arrival. He made sure we knew he wasn’t
happy with us leaving him.
It's 16, raw, windy, and snowing lightly as I read about your freakishly warm weather. :) Glad you had a chance to get out!
ReplyDeleteRev. Paul,
Delete16 degree's raw, windy, and snow not good. I can try to ship you some of our warmth. This was a beautiful weekend. Temperatures are suppose to start getting cold again here. For some time, we were colder than Alaska. We really did have a great time getting out.
Don't get a goose neck. Nothing ruins a good truck bed more than a damned trailer ball in the middle. Although you can get those type that sink down now I think.
ReplyDeletePP,
DeleteWe go to these RV shows to get ideas. Yes, eventually we will get a trailer of some sort but this will be a long ways away. If and when we get a trailer, I think it will be a conventional hitch. You know when you get older and have arthritis you only want to have to go up and down one set of steps. With a 5th wheel, you usually have two sets of steps. Thanks for the info.
I see rocks!!!!
ReplyDeleteGail,
DeleteAll kinds of rocks in many sizes and textures :-)
I bet the trailers were fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIt's been years since I've gone to a show..
Kimberly,
DeleteYes they were gorgeous!!! We love going to the shows, and just dreaming, lol
One day we will invest in one.
I was not expecting that kind of sound in the video. LOL. Hard to believe you were shore fishing in January.
ReplyDeleteMichaele,
DeleteThere is a trout season in the winter here. Were going again to another place this Saturday. Hopefully, we will catch our limit :-)
Beans sounds so funny when he tries to howl.
So glad you had a lovely warm day of fishing, even if you didn't catch anything. It's sometimes nice just to sit by the water's edge & relax.
ReplyDeleteDFW,
DeleteI have to agree with you. It was a beautiful day, and a nice day to relax with my husband. Saturday, were going to another lake to do the same thing.
That's some nice looking country. We have snow predicted for tonight and for Friday. If things ever warm up my wife and I will try to get out and do something different, it's good for you. I liked that river.
ReplyDeleteHarry,
DeleteThis area is about 2 hours Northeast of where we are. Snow!!!! Oh no, stay warm and I hope it doesn't snow to much. Hopefully, it will warm up where your at and you and your sweet wife can go do something fun and different together. Maybe go fishing :-)
