Riscky Business

I hope all of my Blogger friends had a wonderful Easter weekend!

Bulldog Man and I spent Saturday and part of Sunday down south in Texas at my parents’ place.  Since Mom is recovering from a foot infection and MRSA, and Dad is in the process of fighting cancer, we decided to go down and work on their property a bit.  We cleaned up branches, cut down dead trees, pruned several trees, stacked wood and piled debris for bulk pickup.  The visit was nice; I was able to see that my Dad is finally able to keep food down, and has put on a little weight.    In fact, Dad insisted on going out to eat as a family on Saturday evening.  He was craving BBQ Beef Ribs, since he was able to keep food down, and had a craving; we were not going to deprive him his request for ribs.  We piled into two vehicles, and drove into Fort Worth to a place called Riscky’s BBQ.  Dad had 3 ribs, and some green beans, all he could stomach at the time.  He was totally satisfied, you could tell by the smile on his face.  Exhausted because this was a major outing for him, we took him home and made sure he was comfortable in his lounge chair in the family room to rest and watch a little television.

The all you can eat beef ribs are to die for at Riscky’s, the wait staff was amazing, and Bulldog Man and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Fort Worth area of Texas.
Our overall visit down south was very productive, and special for me to see my Dad doing better, gaining strength to tackle the next step of his cancer recovery, chemotherapy.

    1. Pioneer Preppy,

He's doing better and has a long haul to still work through. The weather was really nice there in Texas. Unlike the weather back home. Our son advised we had bad hail and high winds.

    1. Gail,

His smile was ear to ear. Even though he looked exhausted he had a blast. Getting out of the house and not having to think about being sick made a world of difference in his demeanor.
