Mock-Orange Snowflake (Dwarf) - - Storms Still Going On (More on Those Later)

Bulldog Man purchased a flowering deciduous shrub called a Mock-Orange Snowflake Dwarf, for me on Saturday, from my favorite nursery.  My plans are to plant it in a pot on our back patio; this way we can enjoy its scent, while sitting out back, enjoying our coffee in the morning, or while we barbecue during the evening.

The white, snowflake, delicate flowers are beautiful, and have a scent of a sweet orange with a hint of jasmine.
This sweet fragrant bush not only attracts humans (like me, lol…..), it also attracts bees and butterflies.

  1. What a lovely plant from your thoughtful hubby! Will it eventually be planted in the ground? I can imagine it would attract bees and butterflies. Mmmm-mmm!

    1. Mama Pea,

It's a beautiful plant, and it smells amazing. No, I won't plant it in the ground here because it's a rental home. I will keep replanting to larger pots until we eventually get our own place. Then I will plant it in the ground.
It does attract the bees, and butterflies.

    1. Sweet Kymber,

I don't know if I can save seeds from this shrub. I will have to investigate because I want more shrubs. If I can harvest seeds, I'll make sure to save you some.

More storms today and tomorrow. It's suppose to be severe, and scary!
Sending love to you and Jam,
      Sandy

    1. PP,

You have non dwarf, how do you harvest seeds, or do you just cut slips?

PP, we will stay safe.....be careful and safe yourself with this weather.

Thanks, I thought so too. This particular plant will attract bee's, you should try some.

  9. I'm glad you guys are OK with all of the BAD STORMS surrounding you this week.

The mock orange/syringa is our state (Idaho) flower.

    1. Mrs. Mac,

So far, were okay!!! A little minor damage, nothing to stress over.

The mock snowflake is a beautiful plant, I wouldn't mind it being our state flower, lol.....

    1. Susan,

Thank you for asking. Were doing okay, no major damage at our place. Plenty of flooding, garden had areas destroyed. As long as the family is okay, we can start parts of our garden over again.
