Pie Pumpkin, Cuc's, Lake, & Squirrel

My pie pumpkins are going nicely, here’s a picture of one……I have many of these babies growing.

I ended up harvesting another large bowl of cucumbers.  Relish will be made with these cucumbers.

I also had to enjoy a cucumber sandwich with mayo, salt, and pepper……………….It was so good, I think I’ll have another for lunch tomorrow.

*****
Bulldog Man ran me some quick clothes lines right up by the back door, and under the tin roof, for easy access.  This Mockingbird decided to christen the line.

*****
Saturday we went fishing and caught many fish, only two were legal in size and keepers.

I had caught a catfish, and while taking him off the hook, he decided to flip, and one of his barbs went into my finger and hit a nerve.  Boy did I scream and cuss at that poor fish.  Needless to say, he went back into the water….. I had enough of him.

I thought I would share several pictures of Lake of the Arbuckles, with the fog rolling in and the sun coming up.

*****
Finally, I thought I would share this adorable picture with you.

I think the squirrel thought; if he stood still on the wall, you wouldn’t be able to see him.

    1. Mike,

It's refreshing, especially if your cucumbers are cold.

  2. I think that is a Mockingbird, it certainly isn't a hummer.

And what kind of fish are those?

    1. PP,

Thanks for the correction. When I was typing this post, I was thinking Mockingbird and typed Hummingbird. Quick on your feet there my friend!!!!

    2. What kind of Bass? Stripers of some sort? They don't look like Largemouth or Smallmouth to me but maybe it is a angle of the photo or something.

    1. M.E.,

Thank you, when I look at these little Pumpkins growing I think about being a little kid and eating Pumpkin seeds.

That's it, the squirrel was blending in with the wall and laying as flat as he could up against the fence pole. He was so silly. This one loves to run on the side of the house all the time. He has a nest up in the tree's at the end of the property.

  4. That lake looks like it would be great for a small sailboat.

The Squirrel was smart, trying to be still and blend in. He escaped unscathed so I am sure he thinks it worked.

  6. Fogs in August have been plentiful and beautiful. We are counting so we will know the snows of winter.

Your garden produce is looking great.

Did you out fish the men again?!

    What squirrel?

  7. Hey Sweet Sandy,

I love the lake, looks so peaceful. Fish look good too, bad that you did not get the catfish, I love me some deep fried catfish nuggets with grits..

I like getting the pie pumkins for the boys so they can decorate one for halloween each year, all though I will say carving one is harder then a jack O Latern pumpkin, the skin is tougher on those little guys,,

Much love to you guys! TTYL

    1. JUGM,

The lake is very peaceful. I caught the catfish, reeled him in, and picked him up with a small towel to take him off the hook when he flipped hit my thumb with a barb and I dropped him on the ground. We unhooked him and let him go in the water. I was so mad, I didn't want to keep him. My finger hurt for a while, I couldn't move the thumb for a couple of hours.

Much love to you and yours.
      Sandy

    1. Jambaloney,

Hey there!!!! The fishing was really great when we went out. Caught a bit, released a few because of their size. Yes, the barb hurt like a dickens. I make tomato sandwiches the same way with a little mayo, salt, and pepper. There really good, you should try them.
Give Sweet Kymber a big hug from me. Love you guys,
      Sandy

All of them are about this size. Now I'm running into a aphids problem on the vines.

It was very painful, and when I touch this area it still hurts.
