I'm Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m back home!  I’m trying to get back on my feet with Blogger; reading all of the posts from fellow Bloggers, making comments, and actually creating a post for my own blog.  Being away for a while makes it a little difficult to get back in the realm of posting.

These last two weeks have been very hard on my family.  We want to thank all of you for your beautiful words, thoughts, prayers and Love.
All of the nurses with Alpha Omega Hospice were totally amazing.  They took great care of my Dad, as if he was part of their family.  Their support and help is what got all of us through this difficult time.

We returned home Wednesday, early evening, just before the sleet and the snow began.  Talk about a welcome home weather change.  Going from 70’s in Texas, to 17 degrees in Oklahoma.
We are expecting the temperature to drop to 4 degrees tonight.  I’ve posted several pictures of the snow and ice.
Let Me In!!!!!!

I Don't Want To Go Out In That Snow Again!!!

Ice In Road

Please tell me how the weather is in your area, and that you’re staying warm and safe.  If your weather is nice and warm, with high temperatures; tell me about it, so I can dream of being in a warm place.

P.S.  I have a new Blogger friend, Joey, who is following my blog. Joey, I will be formally welcoming you to my blog in the next day or two.

  1. Welcome home! Weather-wise, now you know how we felt leaving Hawaii 2 weeks ago (temps in the 80s) and returning to Alaska where it was sub-zero.

Oh my, I'm so jealous. A/C, warmth, and humidity (I'll pass on the humidity) but would love the warmth.
      Snow for you tomorrow, really?

  6. So sorry for your loss. It's especially hard this time of year but it sounds like he was ready & had the sense of humor to accompany him. I hate to tell you this but it will be perfect fall weather for us here in N FL. Upper 70's for a high & 50's for a low. come on over if you need to warm up. However, it is only supposed to be in the mid 60's by Wednesday of next week. Boo. I know that sounds like heaven to some but that's chilly to us here in the deep south, especially when we wake up to 40s.

    1. DFW,

Thank you for your kind words my sweet friend. I truly believe Dad was ready to leave and be with God. He had the best sense of humor too. I never knew what to expect coming out of his mouth.
If I come over, are you going to put me to work?
I miss Florida weather. Stay warm when the 50's come rolling through.

  7. Welcome back home Sandy and again so very sorry for the loss of you Dad. Hospice is a totally great organization.

My daughter in law who lives right on the Texas Oklahoma border sent a picture an hour or so ago of the snow in their yard. She said it was 19 degrees. I told her I was in shorts and t-shirt and it was 78 degrees. We are running the air conditioner again. The Marine does not breath well unless the house is around 75 or a little above that. I was actually beginning to think I was going to be able to open windows.
    Hugs to you!

  9. oh Sweet Sandy - it was a beautiful and balmy evening of 11C tonight - it was sooo lovely! and we enjoyed our first game of "chase the ace" at our sister community hall - it was a blast! every time we go to these events, we think of how well you and jay and tank would fit in here - these people are as lovely as you! we both know that your Dad's got a job... one that he is the only person qualified to fulfill! but he will be with you in spirit all throughout the rest of your days, which will be many, because all of the people that you have touched need you for about another 135yrs! sorry to put so much stress on you, buddy, but you got those big shoulders...i KNOW that you can handle it!

soooo much love Sweet Sandy, always! your friend,
    kymber

Sounds like you two are totally enjoying the "chase the ace" game. Be careful, this could become addictive, lol

Thanks for the confidence, and sweet words. Dad will always be around to stir the pot, lol....... He always had a joke to tell or play on someone.
Sending love and hugs your way.
      Your Friend,

  10. Oh my goodness, look at your snow! It skirted us and we had a high in the 70s yesterday. Weird, huh?

Sandy, I know things have been tough; I'm just glad to see you blogging again. Take care of yourself my friend. You have a lot of support here in the cyber world.

  11. Sandy, sorry for your loss. Hospice was a blessing for my FIL too.

It is hard to get back in the blogging groove when you have not done it for a while. I did that over Thanksgiving.

Our weather is just like yours in Oklahoma....I think our coldest night was last night and we didn't hit zero. The rest of the week will be in the teens at night. Curious weather; much colder earlier than usual.

    Stay warm.

    1. Glenda,

Sweet friend, thank you for your kind words.

It is extremely hard to get back to my routine of blogging. Some days I just stare at the computer trying to figure out what I would like to type or share.

I hope this weather is not the start of an extreme winter.

      You stay warm too!!!

  12. Hospice is such a blessing. Our local Hospice of the Ozarks is one of the charities we donate what we can to. I'm glad you were able to be with family and your Dad, surrounding him.

Take care with the cold weather. And it looks like your pooch is going to need a sweater!!

    1. Carolyn,

I was surprised to find out that hospice doesn't just help a person who is ill and dying, the do a lot more.

This group that came in, and helped my dad and our family were totally awesome.

It's not going to warm up for quite sometime. I will make sure to stay warm, you too!!! Beans has a coat and several sweaters, he just refuses to wear them. He growls, and shows his teeth.

  13. Hey Sandy,

Glad you got back okay. Hospice is fantastic, they were there every minuted when Seniors mom passed.
I love seeing the snow pics, make me feel Christmasy. It is 81 here....yes that would be an Eight with a One. ick! It was so warm today that as soon as I put sheets out to dry on the line, 10 min. later they were ready...
Enjoy your evening, and cozy up by a fire if you have one..

    1. JUGM,

Thank you, I'm glad we came home when we did to avoid being on the road when the storm came through.

I never new how good these people were with Hospice until we used them.

81 degrees is nice and warm, would you like to trade?? I would love to put sheets and towels out on the line. I'm afraid if I do they will be as hard as a surf board, lol

Speaking of Christmas, I need to pull out the tree and decorate to get my family into this Christmas spirit.

Were keeping warm with the heat, and blankets. Hubby and I decided to watch RED2. Our younger son (20 years) was out entertaining his girlfriend so we had a nice date night.

  14. First, my condolences on the passing of your dad! I'm so very sorry! I believe that hospice workers are angels in disguise! My mother-in-law is in hospice care now!

Well you asked about weather...so here goes. We are freezing our butts off here! Got about 8 inches of snow over the weekend and them temps plunged into the negatives on Sunday morning! It was -15 on Sunday morning, -26 on Monday morning and -17 this morning! I'm so over winter already and it really hasn't even started yet! The snow is pretty, if you don't have to drive in it like I do to get to and from work (30 miles one way), but the below freezing temps just plain stink! Okay, I'm done with my weather rant...lol! Oh and we put a new metal roof on your house during this lovely cold snap! Yes, crazy people we are!

Hope you are staying warm! Hugs!!!
