  1. Let's see. While wandering down the road having just escaped from evil Obama zombies who were attempting to suck out my brain I failed to notice another herd of them coming down a side street.

When I turned the corner there they were.

ACK! I said as I reached into my pocket and pulled out my copy of "Complete Wilderness Training Manual" and rolling it up as best I could I rammed it into the Obama Zombie's eye repeatedly until it was dead.

It was only then I noticed a recent refugee from Oklahoma. I could tell she was from Oklahoma because she was wearing Silver Slippers to escape tornadoes as only the refugees from Kansas wear ruby ones. Anyway she is injured because her brain was sucked out by an Obama-Zombie. Luckily the Obama-Zombie had not had time to swallow the brain yet. So once again I use my rolled up copy of "Complete Wilderness Training Manual" and dismember the Obama-Zombie with it's sharp plastic coated cover edge.

Then I whip out my "Pocket Medic" supplies and replace the Oklahoma refugee's Brain.

And everyone lives happily ever after.... Except the Obama-Zombies

  2. Well, I cannot compete with Pioneer Preppy!

I know nothing about wilderness. I don't how I could ever expect to survive. So, maybe this book would give me a chance. So, there won't be any sidewalks to follow? No refrigeration for my milk? I bet my bananas would get squashed. Right? That is not good. I need help.

  3. I just found your blog via SciFi Chick, and I am loving it so far. You have some really great information. I would like to win the giveaway because I am working to get back to the simplier life. I have 3 teens and one grandchild that live with me. I am a disabled momma who does her best to get as much of my own food grown as possible, and would love to learn more. My 17yr old is also interested in how people lived without technology and he builds wigwams, is currently teaching himself to carve bowls and such from wood. He would also benefit from this.

    1. SummerRae,

Hello! Welcome to the prepare world :-) You're an Okie too!

I've registered you in the give-away.

May I suggest a wonderful book called Patriots by JW Rawles. You may want to check out his blog, very helpful for prepping, and survival and beyond http://www.survivalblog.com/

Also check out a few of the blogs I have on my blog roll like Rural Revolution, Bacon and Eggs, Paratus Familia, and Living Prepared.

Another area to consider reading homesteading, and self reliant/sufficient.

  6. Sandy,

This would be a great book to have in my library of resource books. It would also be good to have as we are a household of three women (63, 45 and 16) whose idea of a wilderness is the local arboretum. Help! We need help - and this would be just the ticket.

  12. Hi there, I found your blog through Two Men And A Little Farm's Blog. I generally check out the bloggers that leave comments on 1st man's posts, but I've never seen a comment from you before. We must be commenting on different posts. (smile)

Anyway, I'm thrilled to have found your blog. Love the topics you post about. I'll have to try making my own vanilla extract following your recipe. (bigger smile) ... and I'm so very sorry to hear about Bug. What a sweet little face...

I've been an organic gardener most of my adult life while raising my children as a single parent, but only recently became a prepper. In fact, just today I visited the Half Price Bookstore and purchased 3 books that will help my quest to become more self-sufficient.

I've hunted for a field guide (covering general topics), but haven't decided on any one in particular, so I'd love to enter your contest.

Oh, and not to mention how handy it would come in to wack a few Obama-Zombies! Thank God Pioneer Preppy was prepared!! We should all be thankful that your brain is in tack and can live to 'post' another day! Phew...

Thanks so much for hosting the give away. (this is my first contest entry EVER).. How exciting! (hehe)

    1. Gammy Tammy,

Welcome to my blog! Yes, I've commented a few times on Two Men and a Little Farms Blog. These guys are wonderful :-)

You'll love the vanilla recipe, it's also very easy to make. What's nice about it, you'll always have vanilla in house and only pay for it once.

Being a single parent is hard, I commend you as a single parent. I was once there, and know some of the struggles. Welcome to the world of prepping. There are some really wonderful blogs out there in the blogging world which are highly informative and maybe better than trying to find books on the subject. I've posted a few of them on my blog roll over to the left of my page.

My dear friend Pioneer Preppy, he sure comes ups with some really good stories on zombies...........His blog is a great one to check out.

I've registered you in the give-away, good luck in tomorrows drawing.
