Lost Nuts!

Today, I dead-headed some of my Lazy Susans, and placed the heads in bags to dry for next season’s plantings.

I also canned and put away several quarts of homemade chicken broth in the pantry for next year.

Our son, Tank finally has his welder totally insured and bolted down on his flatbed truck.  He’s even welded a couple of locked tool boxes.  The truck looks really good, and he’s set to do welding at anytime, anywhere.

Today, Tank went out to his truck to use his welder.  He went to hookup his welding leads, as he went to lift the lid on the bolt to place the leads on the welder, the nuts were missing.  Someone took the nuts off his welder.  His response to the situation, “obviously the person, who stole my nuts, didn’t have a pair of their own”…………  Our response to the situation; “make sure your nuts are secured before you walking away from your truck”.  Deep down, I was truly thankful he had his welder secured and insured.

Tank ended up running into town, and had to go to several places to find replacement nuts for his welder.

  1. Jokes aside, it's good that the nuts were the only thing the thieves could take. Means Tank did an excellent job of securing things, otherwise.

    Well done.

    1. Rev. Paul,

Yes it is good the thieves only took the nuts. I believe this happened when he went into the city of Moore (where the tornadoes were) to go to the movies.

      Thanks Rev.:-)

    1. PP,
Yes, I'm glad it's insured too.

I would say yes on being a magnet but I believe the nuts were taken at the movie theatre in another town he visited.

  3. Seems like you folks have a big problem with stealing there. I'm surprised, didn't think of Oklahoma as being that way.

    1. Harry,

Our son went to the movie theatre that was hit by the tornado in the city of Moore. The Warren Theatre and he parked his truck in the back. Ever since the tornadoes went through Moore the criminal element have been targeting people.

  4. I love my pink cone flowers. I guess that would be best to do that. I usually just clip and crumble them in the same bed.

    How are the gourds doing?

    1. Gail,

I did this so I can plant the seeds in all different locations.

The gourds are growing like crazy. I took pictures of them before, will have to display current pictures.

    1. Kimberly,

I'm glad it wasn't anything expensive but it's still pain to have to find replacement nuts.

  6. Tank's situation is just "nuts". I'll never understand why things like this happen. It would never come to my mind to take something from someone else.

  7. Izzy,

I'm like you, it would never come to my mind either.

Tank had to go find the exact nuts for his welder. He picked up two pair and put them under lock and key.

  8. My brother-in-law started his "company" with a welder on the back of his truck. He made sure his welding was top notch and he charged a fair price. Today he owns one of the largest welding/steel/crane business in the nation and is a multi, multi, millionaire. Tank has a good future if he can keep his nuts together.
