Peeping Tom................

Bulldog Man undressed, started the shower, and went to open the bathroom window when he jumped back with surprise; a squirrel was staring at him on the other side of the bathroom window like a peeping tom……………Bahahahahahahaha!!!!

This squirrel was very attracted to the old screen on the window, he kept licking the screen.  It’s too early for spring window cleaning!!!

On Thanksgiving Day, our kitchen sink decided to stop draining properly.  Out came the good old baking soda and vinegar.  The sink sure did bubble up; however, it still refused to drain properly.  Next came out the large container of degreaser.  We poured a couple of cups down the pipes and you could hear the liquid bubbling along, with air making its way down the pipes.  Then we followed up the degreaser with boiling hot water.  The sink continued draining, slowly…………….time for the sink snake.

Bulldog Man pushed the snake in 25 feet; the water is still draining slowly.  Time to give up……we called the landlord; a plumber will arrive Monday morning.

Have you picked up the new Backwoods Home Magazine for November/December 2014, Issue #150?    If not, what are you waiting for?

Especially if you’re interested in starting a business and don’t know where to start.  Patrice Lewis from Rural Revolution writes about turning a passion both her and her husband had into a personal business.

The article is a great read!

Here are a few beautiful pictures of the skies over Oklahoma, I hope you enjoy them.
In town we caught a sun dog in the sky just above the power lines.

I had to go into town to the local hospital for my yearly blood work.  While there, waiting my turn in the hospital waiting room, I came across this charging station.  This is a first for me…… I’ve never seen one of these things in a hospital.   Does this mean the hospital wants you to stay longer?

Did you have a wonderful stress free Thanksgiving?

  1. I'm sure that squirrel staring back at me would have given me a start! Your husband was brave not to "scream like a little girl" as they say!

You weren't in the middle of preparing a big dinner for many guests when your sink plugged up on Thanksgiving, I hope? Although we all know things like that tend to happen at the most inopportune times. Why is that??

We have a subscription to Backwoods Home Magazine so I'll have to check out that article you recommended.

Our Thanksgiving Day was very relaxing . . . first time I've managed that in many years. I must be getting wise in my old age! ;o)

    1. Mama Pea,

My husband was totally surprised when he raised the blinds, and went to open the window. Good thing the squirrel didn't jump inside the window while hubby was standing there naked, lol......

We had a very quiet Thanksgiving, I prepared burrito's, and of course the sink decided to back up while washing dishes. I'm waiting for the plumber now.

I think we both are getting wise in our old age :-)

  3. Wonder what that squirrel was after?

The charging station thing is kinda odd. Most of the hospitals around here have sign telling you to turn off your phones and such while inside anyway.

    1. PP,

That squirrel loved licking the screen. I'm not sure what he was after. I'm wondering if there was salt or something on the screen. We hadn't cleaned the screen or windows yet.....waiting on spring to do so.

I thought the same thing about the charging station. Every hospital or doctors office I've been to always has signs up telling you to shut off your telephone.

    1. DFW,

Especially when you're not expecting a face looking back at you while you raise the blinds. Oh yes, please post the creature loving on your game cam. This will be funny to see.
I'm waiting on the plumber as I sit here on the computer.
Thanksgiving was very quiet, no big meals to make :-)
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  5. That squirrel would have frightened me too! Some days I really wish I had a landlord to call. Small blessings whether you know it now or not. The magazine is intriguing. I used to poor over Countryside magazine.

The squirrel was a surprise, lol.......
Having a landlord is great, and easier on the budget in most cases :-)
Eventually we will be buying a place to settle on.
Yes......this magazine is intriguing. This magazine is a little treat for me when it comes out.

    1. Hey Harry,

Squirrel are adorable as long as they're not getting into your house or making nests. Thank you, we do get to experience nice sunrises and sets here out living out on the prairie.

    1. M.E.,

Yes Squirrel Tom was trying, once we figured out what he was doing we bought a salt lick and put it outside for him.

Landlord called a plumber, got the sink fixed, and were back up and functioning now :-)

Being with family is usually noisy......especially around the holidays.

  8. That is hilarious about the squirrel. Actually it is more then hilarious...That critter was after something. Was it really cold there? maybe he just wanted inside your little comfy home... : )

Love all the sky pics, looks so pretty and peaceful.
We use a "Zip-It" tool for our sinks. You can get them for about 2.50 at Home Depot. Works really good for clogs, without using chemicals.. Hope you get it fixed, I hate nasty plumbing problems like that.

hugs to you and BDM hope there are no more peeping squirrels...

    1. JUGM,

It is cold here all the time now!!! Mr. Squirrel was licking off salt from the screen. We purchased a salt lick, and set it up way away from my garden for all the squirrels, rabbits, ect......I also added raw nuts for them.

Zip It tool wasn't large enough. The sink needed to be snaked out to 40 feet. Our snake only reached 25 feet. The Landlord had the plumber out and the price was reasonable.

      So far......no more peepers, lol......
Hugs to you, Senior, and the boys.
      Sandy

    1. Buttons,

I thought it was funny to see a charging station in the waiting room being that hospitals don't really like people using cell phones.
The blood work for me was just routine, every 6 months :-)
Thank you my friend, the skies are pretty here as long as there's no tornadoes :P
Hugs to you and your Hero.

  10. That squirrel is too funny! What in the world?

I'm guessing the charging station is for battery operated wheelchairs.

    1. Leigh,

I'm guessing the squirrel need salt? I've placed a salt lick outside for the wildlife.

Actually, this charging station was setup for cell phones. Funny thing, most hospitals don't want you using your cell phone inside.

    1. Susie,

A true surprise, and totally funny little squirrel.

This was the first time I've seen a fire dog, hubby pointed it out to me.
Our plumbing issues have been fixed, now our front door lock decided to not work any more. Time to replace the dead bolt.

      Thanksgiving was very quiet.
      Blessings,
      Sandy
