Saturday and Sunday, Bulldog Man and I headed out
early to catch some trout to place in our freezer. The wind picked up a bit on Saturday. so we
only stayed out at the pond a couple of hours and caught only 2 trout.
On the way home, we stopped off at Bass Pro Shop in
Oklahoma City and found a couple of really light fishing rods with reels at a
great price. These rods will be great
rods for fishing trout, bass, and crappie.
Bulldog Man and I decided to try the new rods at the pond on Sunday.
Sunday morning at 5:30 AM, we arrived at the pond
and setup our gear. Dropping our fishing
lines in the water, we sat back in our comfy camping chairs, enjoying a nice
hot cup of coffee, while watching the moon disappear through the clouds, and
the sun appear over the horizon, waiting for a fish to bite. As the sun blessed us with her shine, a pair
of beavers swims across in front of us, heading toward the other side of the
pond. Geese fly in, landing in the water,
while ducks float along the shoreline looking for food, and a medium-sized
turtle swims under our fishing lines, and occasionally pops his head up to let
us know he’s there.
Sunday afternoon we brought home 5 more trout to add
to our freezer stash for meals later on.
Okay ………. Bulldog Man wants me to note he caught the fish. I’ll let him take the credit, he earned it :-)
Besides, the best part about fishing, is spending time relaxing together, and enjoying the great outdoors.

What a wonderful post. Looks like a beautiful weekend. Is it too early to say Spring is around the corner? Hope it is!! Enjoy those trout. I used to fish with my Dad when I was younger but haven't in ages (and ages). Might need to do that sometime.
ReplyDelete1st Man,
DeleteIt was a beautiful weekend. Springs not here yet, temperatures to drop after this weekend :-(
You should get back into fishing, it's so relaxing and your out in the middle of mother nature. What makes it even better is if you're with the one you love.
MMMMM. Trout. I am gonna sneak down there and steal em I swear.
ReplyDeleteWait I have a plan, a gunny sack and a kidnapped Beans might get me the trout I want. Bahahahahahahaha
DeletePP I think you need an accomplice. I'll handle Beans while you snag the fish.
DeletePP,
DeleteYou can try to steal them but I really think Beans would hear you coming before you get to the door. Remember Beans' nickname is KILLER!!!!

We had a blast out there fishing. No this time we put up the trout to eat in the next couple of weeks. Were going to try to get as many as we can legally before the season is up the end of the month. Please share with Jambaloney :-)
Sending love and hugs to you both
Sandy
P.S. Beans sends you a Killer Smile :-)
Sweet Sandy - me and Beans are a "killing" team. i got the *ss-kicking boots and he's got the teeth that won't let go - bahahahahah!

ReplyDeleteMichaele,

Sounds like a lovely Sunday to me! The only fish available to us up here in northern MN are those taken by ice fishing. But, oh my, do they ever taste good!

Soon the ice will be gone and you can enjoy fishing in the warmth.
