In Memoriam
Of
Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras and Carl Young
Our Friends, Tim Samaras, Paul Samaras, and Carl Young |
All
three of these fine men died on May 31, 2013 doing what they loved,
chasing tornadoes, and placing specially equipped electronic devices known as probes in the path
of extreme tornadoes to obtain scientific readings on the workings of a tornado, in order to
increase the warning times ahead of the tornadoes. Most of you probably know Tim and his crew
from the Discovery Channel's program “Storm Chasers”. Tim and his crew, along with all the other
storm chasers are like family to many here in Oklahoma.
Oklahoma
suffered a great loss. May Tim, Paul, and Carl rest in peace.
Memorial
services were held today in Littleton, Colorado for Tim Samaras, his son Paul
Samaras and his partner Carl Young.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 so we do not lose heart. Though our
outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight
of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that
are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen
are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

ReplyDeleteI heard this on the news=very sad...
Thank you for this post. They were my favorite storm chasers and what makes their deaths so much more tragic is that they were probably some of the safest...it just shows how dangerous it is.
ReplyDeleteMay they rest in peace...watching those storms from above now.
