Training Bug is a goal set for 2013.  I have this crazy idea, now that I’ve potty trained the pup.  Our pup runs fast past the back door, and over to you if you’re sitting in the lodge to let you know she wants out of the house to do her business.  But what if you’re not sitting in the lodge; and you’re somewhere else in the house?  My thought; hang a bell attached to a rope on the back door. When the pup has to go outside, she rings the bell.

The last time I went to the pet store to pickup dog food, I wandered into the training section and found exactly what I was looking for.  A cord with a bell to attached to the door knob; then I looked at the price and thought, that’s crazy: $29.00.  No Way!!!!  I refused to pay $29.00 for a cord attached to a bell.   I went to the local craft store and they were out of bells.  So I wandered into a sporting goods store and they had a bell, they called it a bear bell, for $3.00.  I went ahead and snatched it up, took the bag off the bell (bag used to silence the bell).  Then I stole borrowed some paracord from Bulldog Man.   Cut it into three pieces, braided it, and fed the bell loop through the paracord and tied a knot at the very top.  All I needed to do then was just hook the cord over the door knob and viola’……..I have a training bell for my pup, Bug. :-)

*****Have you ever had a craving for a something different with beef ribs?

                     I found this recipe here, and modified it to this:

Crock Pot Hawaiian Country Beef Ribs
3 pounds country beef ribs
1 yellow onion (use any kind of onion) chopped
2 smashed garlic cloves
2 inches of peeled and sliced ginger
¾ cup brown sugar
1 cup low sodium soy sauce
7 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 teaspoon chili sauce
1 (8 or 12) ounce can of diced pineapple w/juice
*after when serving, sprinkle scallions or sesame seeds on each dish

Place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on high for 8 hours.  Remove meat and chop into bite size pieces.  Cook up white or brown rice, spoon the Hawaiian Country Beef Rib mixture over rice and sprinkle with scallions or sesame seeds.
