Heirloom Seeds

One of the blogs I follow, Rocky Oak Homestead turned me on to Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.  I’ve ordered 31 new packs of heirloom seeds to supplement the seeds I have stored for my upcoming spring garden.

If you’re looking for seeds for your garden checkout the above site.  Prices are reasonable.

  2. Hey Sandy, Glad you had a good experience with them. I have used them for a couple of years and have never had a problem with them. The seeds always germinate. And they always send a free package of seeds! I just got another order from them and have one more huge order to place and then I should be done with seeds for a good long while...

    1. Thank you again for introducing me to Baker Creek.
They sent me a packet of cantaloupe seeds. I love free things !!!! I've added the seeds to my others and can't wait to plant them.

  3. Sandy,

They were my favorite seeds this year. Only one of the tomatoes I had from them didn't produce for me. The plants were beautiful but not.one.single tomato (Hillbilly was the variety). I'm sure it was something I did, or they just aren't suited for our climate. Everything else from them did beautifully, especially the herbs.

I also had the opportunity to go to one of their stores outside of Hartford, CT. I was like a kid in a candy store, what a treat!

    1. They're my favorite place to order seeds now :-)
I wish their stores we're close to us, I would be shopping all the time. Now that wouldn't make my husband happy one bit.

  5. I shall visit. I have been looking for a source of heritage seeds.

Their packages are artistic. I could think of a few crafty ideas using those.

  8. Oh, nice! I used to garden in California all the time, but haven't had any luck here in Virginia. I think you actually have to have skill here...lol In Cali, I just planted the seeds, watered and had big beautiful tomatoes, herbs etc. Here...nada, nothing, zilch:(

    1. When we used to live in Fairfax County, Virginia we had to haul in good dirt in order to garden. The existing dirt, hard clay, planting seeds in this, nothing would grow.
